This year Black Friday has become Black Week, and the deals started piling into inboxes from Monday. But Friday is still the day that most of the beauty sites and brands open their sales, so it’s still fair game to post this on Friday! I approached this week with a set shopping list, of things I’ve been wanting to pick up but have been holding out for a discount to buy.
So, rather than run through all the possible deals and discounts, which, let’s face it are endless, here are my top picks for this crazy shopping weekend:
Viseart Grand Pro 3 eyeshadow palette
Was £140, now £109.20
Viseart makes my favourite eyeshadows, and by default I always do a bright eye look, even for regular daytime wear. Love Makeup is my first stop for all things Viseart, and I’ve been waiting for the Black Friday sale to pick up the stunning volume 3 of the Grande Pro series of palettes. Given the eyewatering price tag, I also bought volumes 1 and 2 during previous Love Makeup sales.
Since all the Viseart palettes are lush, and they’re all included in the Love Makeup sale, it’s a good opportunity to get hold of some of the others too, including the 12-pan Dark Mattes, Cool Mattes 2 and Editorial Brights, the 9-pan Liason and Libertine palettes, and the travel-size Petit Pros and Dark Edit.
Sydney Grace multi-chrome eyeshadows
Were $25 each, now $18.75 each
Sydney Grace is another independent makeup brand I discovered from YouTubers. The matte eyeshadows are lovely, but the shimmer shades are next level stunning. I mean, look at Alexandrite. The four above are relatively new cream shadows and are on sale for 25% off, along with the rest of the products on the site. Loose pigments are 35% off.
Although all four cream multi-chrome shadows are on my wishlist, I’m going with Alexandrite and Dragonfly this time, because I’ve got a bigger wishlist elsewhere…
Glossier skincare and makeup
20% off everything
Internet beauty branding sensation Glossier has opened a two-month popup shop in London just in time for its 20% off Black Friday sale. I’ve been meaning to stock up on some products for a while, like the cleanser brow gel and mascara, and try out new products like the eyeliner and oil serum. I don’t mind doing that for 20% less than a couple weeks ago when I almost placed an order!
Salt New York palettes
Four-tint bundle was $64, now $32; 6-tint bundle was $96, now $48
It turns out most of my favourite makeup brands are indie. I adore these stylish magnetic palettes from Salt New York, in which I store my favourite Viseart and Sydney Grace eyeshadows along with powder and blush for doing my makeup on the move.
The lip and cheek cream products launched in September, which is when I picked up this beautiful berry bundle. If I didn’t already have it, I’d definitely be taking advantage of the 50% off sale for Black Friday weekend.
Fenty Beauty
Ah Fenty, the game-changer brand particularly for women of colour, is on sale at Harvey Nichols and Boots, with discounts of 15-20% varying according to the product. The contour and blush sticks are good, and the lip colours have replaced any others in my makeup bag recently. A good opportunity to stock up and collect some Boots or Harvey Nics points in the process.
