After a great meal at Cafe 369, we continued the indulgence with a visit to a nearby #onsen by the harbour. I could have laid on the hot stone floor in one of the sauna rooms for hours, although of course that wouldn't be advisable! We alternated between the various indoor and outdoor hot pools and the sauna rooms, watched the sun beginning to set over the harbour and topped it off with excellent massages.

Cafe 369 in #Chiba, on the outskirts of #Tokyo, has the most scrumptious #vegan food! The staff are lovely, and accommodated us even though they were about to close. They even make you a herbal tea personalised to your health/skin concerns. The decor is traditional Japanese and the atmosphere calm and welcoming. They happened to be closed for a few days the first time we tried to go, so I'm glad we got to go back!

A fully #glutenfree restaurant with #vegan options, Gluten Free T’s Kitchen in Roppongi has dishes it's hard to find gluten-free and vegan, like spring rolls, tempura, and fluffy Japanese pancakes. These had a beautiful cherry syrup 😋🥞 It's small inside and was full at dinner time, but the staff kindly made space for me at the bar.

Pro tip if you're like me and forget to charge your power banks before going out for the day or bring a plug 🤦🏽‍♀️: Tokyo has these ChargePoints dotted around various locations across the city, from Metro stations to shopping arcades, convenience shops and tourist attractions.
You can borrow a power bank for a few hours for the equivalent of about £2 and return it to any ChargePoint that has a free slot. There are microUSB, USB-C and iPhone cables on the back so you can charge any mobile device.

Took myself on a little walking tour, and couldn't resist starting at the iconic #ShibuyaCrossing. There's a cool view from the Starbucks above but also a queue that snakes out the door that I didn't have the patience for as I'd been up there before. Definitely head up to one if the cafes anove the square if it's your first time though!

One of the joys of slow travel is having the time

One of the joys of slow travel is having the time to adjust to a new place and take it all in. Embrace jet lag, hang out with friends over long lunches and dinners, give attention to new client work.
Rather than hit the ground running all over Tokyo as I typically might, I eased in. It's strawberry season and Chiba is well known for its sweet, juicy berries. Meanwhile berries are one of the things I miss in Barbados, where imported fruit costs a small fortune. So I jumped at the chance to go strawberry picking 🍓😋
At this little farm you can't take them away, so you have an hour to eat as many as you can. We may not have had strawberries since that day 😂
