I moved to Barbados and I just wanna wear LoveShackFancy

A change of location and climate are an opportunity to reinvent your personal style. Moving from London to Barbados at the beginning of January, overnight I switched from my uniform of chunky knits over skinny jeans and over-the-knee boots to bikinis under sundresses and sandals.

The climate in Barbados is perfect – hot, sunny days for lazing on the beach and cooler evenings conducive to wearing flowing maxi dresses for evenings out, followed by a comfortable night’s sleep.

And so it is that I’ve become a little obsessed with LoveShackFancy. This independent brand makes beautiful dresses in delicate florals embellished with lace and embroidery. A LoveShackFancy lookbook is a place of eternal summer — which is a mood I’ve decided to inhabit for the foreseeable future.

The price point is at the designer end of the scale, and having just ditched my established London life to start a freelance business while wandering around the world, it doesn’t quite fit my budget (which for clothes right now is zero!) But one day…
