Don’t call it a comeback…

Tap, tap, tap… Is this thing on?

So, years have passed since I blogged here regularly. Life happened and things changed and I abandoned my little corner of creativity. But as the months rolled into years and the years multiplied I’ve really missed it.

Finally the time is right to start a new chapter.

I’ve been trying to restore my archive of posts, but in the meantime I’m starting fresh.

Dress: Topshop | Vest: New Look (old) | Bag: Accessorize | Sunglasses: New Look
Shoes: JW Anderson x Aldo Rise (old)

The fashion world has been firmly in the midst of a 90s throwback in recent seasons, which this summer manifested in ditsy print skirts and striped everything and personal discomfort that the clothes that adorned my teenage years have come back around to the High Street racks.

But I never actually wore stripes that often in the past, so this season I managed to about triple the amount of striped clothing I own with just a couple of purchases. That’s the way to approach the return of past trends – pick one or two pieces that are unlike the styles you owned before, to avoid feeling that you’re dressing like your 14-year-old self.

I love when a new arrival to my wardrobe perfectly complements an old favourite. This dream of a dress I picked up from the chaotic sale rack in Topshop pairs perfectly with my beloved JW Anderson x Aldo heels from several years ago, which I featured here before.

This outfit is evoking daydreams of sunset cocktails at a marina somewhere with a warm breeze carrying strains of music and laughter.
